Grow your skills this summer.Good Neighbor Center (GNC) is currently recruiting summer interns to join our team supporting families experiencing homelessness in Washington County. If you're passionate about community building, social impact, and working alongside dedicated professionals, this internship is a chance to gain real-world experience in nonprofit development, marketing, design, communication, and outreach.
As a Communication & Development Intern, you’ll support our efforts to raise awareness, connect with the community, and promote programs that help families find stability. You’ll collaborate on campaigns, assist with outreach and event planning, and provide administrative support that keeps our mission moving forward.

Details:
Location: Tigard, OR
Time Commitment: Minimum 10 hours/week, with flexibility to meet your school’s internship requirements

Job Duties:
Community Outreach:
Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of Good Neighbor Center's programs and services within the Tigard community.
Actively engage with community members, local businesses, and organizations to establish and strengthen partnerships.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members to integrate community engagement strategies into overall organizational goals.
Attend team meetings, providing updates on outreach activities and seeking input for improvement.
Communications:
Interact directly with shelter clients and community members to foster dialogue and practice interpersonal communication skills.
Help represent the organization’s mission through authentic, compassionate storytelling that amplifies our work.
Event Coordination:
Assist in planning and executing community events, and outreach initiatives.
Collaborate with team members to ensure successful event logistics and participation.
Donor Support:
Collaborate with the team to identify and engage potential donors within the community.
Assist in organizing donor appreciation events and acknowledgment programs.
Contribute to the creation of donor communication materials, including updates, and personalized thank-you notes.
Grant Writing Assistance:
Support the grant writing process by researching potential funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs.
Assist in preparing grant proposals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the organization's goals.
Work closely with the Community Engagement Manger to compile necessary documentation and data for grant applications.
