Internship Descriptions

  • Community Outreach:

    Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of Good Neighbor Center's programs and services within the Tigard community.

    Actively engage with community members, local businesses, and organizations to establish and strengthen partnerships.

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with other team members to integrate community engagement strategies into overall organizational goals.

    Attend team meetings, providing updates on outreach activities and seeking input for improvement.

    Event Coordination:

    Assist in planning and executing community events, and outreach initiatives.

    Collaborate with team members to ensure successful event logistics and participation.

    Donor Support:

    Collaborate with the team to identify and engage potential donors within the community.

    Assist in organizing donor appreciation events and acknowledgment programs.

    Contribute to the creation of donor communication materials, including updates, and personalized thank-you notes.

    Grant Writing Assistance:

    Support the grant writing process by researching potential funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs.

    Assist in preparing grant proposals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the organization's goals

    Work closely with the Community Engagement Manger to compile necessary documentation and data for grant applications.

  • Interns at GNC work with children of various ages and developmental needs in a classroom setting. They support the GNC Children’s Program, which offers preschool and after-school hours to families. Intern responsibilities include planning activities, assisting with classroom management, and helping children during play and learning. Interns pursuing child development education are valued, and knowledge of child-led practices is a plus.
